
Jazmine was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Pam, her mother was an old backup singer at Philadelphia International Records. Her father offered her the position of curator for the Historic Strawberry Mansion. She together with her family then relocated into the historic mansion. The 2005 Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts student, she is a major in vocal music. Sullivan started singing as a contralto with the children's choir, then shortly after, she was a part of the adult group. Sullivan had limited exposure to secular music. The singer recalls she was eleven when someone wanted her to sing as a soloist at church. The singer wasn't fully ready. At that time, McDonald's held a contest with children from large cities. I was able to perform "Accept the Grace of God" during It's Showtime at the Apollo. And the people were very enthusiastic. She was just 13 when she sang alongside Stevie Wonder for his grandson's birthday celebration. Sullivan, at age 15 began her career with Jive Records. The label initially signed Sullivan to Jive Records around the age of 15. She produced an entire album, but the album never saw release. Sullivan was ultimately dropped on the labels. They had a strong working relations along with Missy Elliott. Elliott produced several of her songs which included "Backstabbers" the track that was produced by Timbaland.
